Get it before it's too late.

I went to see I Am Legend in the new Tilburg cinema Must See.

First of all: although I like innovation and I'm in favour of improving stuff etc.

(check my gear for example... Always changing)



so this new cineplex sounded great to me: better chairs, bigger screens, better sound, larger rooms, more rooms, more films. But they don't have their shir together ight now. It all feels too stiffy: the boxoffice dudes, the ticketcheckers, the snacksalesmen etc.
It's all too new at the moment and as always: this new cinema looked probably great on paper but in reality they probably haven't forseen the large rows at the boxoffice. In fact: the entrance hall is not prepaired for larege rows and the counter is not placed in a smart way. So chaos at the boxoffice, therefor long rows and therefor the movie I Am Legend had to start too late.

Then their ticketsystem: not idiotproof yet, so printing the tickets still takes too long.
Example: I ordered tickets online. These tix are connected to seats. So when Evil and I were finally in front of the row, we paid the tix, saw the cool seats we were going to get, then their system got jammed and they tried to put us on the front rowseats.
WRONG. These are the shittiest places in this new cinema. If you come to see a film here in Tilburg: get a seat in the middle, not on the first three rows: you're screwed and will get a stiff neck.

So when the commercials kicked in we deceided to get our money back. But they heard us and gave us the splots we liked: in the middle.

The sound is indeed superb, and the seats are great. The screen is humongous, but the fact they placed the first rows sooo close to the screen is stupid. Like I said: it probably looked good on paper...

Instead of getting to choose from a couple of cinema's we are now doomed to go to this one mega place to watch only blockbusters. Let's see where this brings us. Hope we get more movies and quicker. Otherwise we still have to go to Antwerpen, belgium, from time to time.

Now the movie. I Am Legend is a remake of the 1979 classic Omega Man with Charlton Heston and is based on the book I Am Legend. I have the old movie on dvd and watched the beginning again, right when I came back from the new version. The new one is definitely better, like I said at the beginning: I'm in favour of improving stuff. And they definitly succeeded in doing this with this new version. Will Smith is great and the funny hints in this film (like a huge filmposter with the Batman sign with in the middle the Superman logo indicating they are working on that movie) or the great "old" music in the film is pretty cool.

Go and see it. It's great!
